This looks like a good page for getting lessons to increase students' awareness about engineering. I looked at several of the lesson plans and many of them are intended for middle school.

Did I mention that we need more engineers???!!!

Check out this link for the Grand Challenges. There are some interesting comments on the Personalized Learning Article… including mine in a few days after they approve it! Heh heh… unless they deem me unworthy. It looks like I am the first real teacher to write a comment… don't let non-teachers capitalize the comments page on an education article… put your two cents out there people! ~.~Amanda

The Spring planning meeting is scheduled for this day, 8 a.m. - noon, at Buff State. See the current agenda here . The purpose of this meeting is to plan the Summer Institute 2008. By the end of the meeting, we will have a draft schedule of what the week's activities will be—determined by you. Basically, the format is that if you have an idea for a session: propose it to the group in a 3-5 minute pitch and then you all vote on what sessions you want included in the week of Summer Institute.

We received a big package of this year’s Tech Savvy brochures. So I am sending out a few to each of you in the BPS pony, tomorrow. I have also asked the AAUW folks to email me an electronic version of the brochure, so I can send that to you, as well. Their website is not updated yet about this year’s event—but it should be soon, they just have a little blurb on their events page (scroll down to March 15th): http://aauw.buffalo.edu/events.htm Plus, they have it set up that you can register online already—this is new this year… (From Maureen)
